Thief breaks into lover’s lodgings

A Chiweshe man broke into a house where his girlfriend was renting and stole cell phones and money.

Takunda banda (20) of Mupandenyama village, appeared at the Concession magistrates court last wednesday facing unlawful entry chages.

he pleaded guilty before magistrate Joshua Nembaware and was slapped with an 18-month jail term.

in his plea of guilty, banda said: “Your worship l had come for a quality time with my girlfriend. so when l failed to locate her l then thought of stealing the property.”

Prosecutor Precious Khanye told the court that on March 16 banda went to Anold Tauya's place of residence where his girlfriend resides. he failed to locate her. he then broke into the house and stole two mobile phones and Us$260.

A police report was filed leading to the arrest of banda.
