Woman murdered in Nyamandlovu

A family in Nyamandlovu under Chief Deli has accused police of ignoring evidence that may lead to the closure of a murder case that occurred two weeks ago.

Lot Ndlovu’s wife, Samkeliso (47) was gruesomely murdered in their matrimonial home on September 11, but there have been no arrests.

Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda said investigations were underway.

“On the day in question, Daniel Zulu (herdboy) went out of the house to feed the dogs,” Banda said.

“While he was outside he noticed three suspects coming towards him and shouting words such as “We want to kill everyone here” without mentioning the reason,’’ Banda said.

Banda said Zulu alerted other villagers and when he returned, Samkeliso was lying in a pool of blood.

The criminals stole cash amounting to ZAR12 362 and US$246.

Family spokesperson, retired army Chaplain Jona Ndlovu, said his brother Lot (67) was disappointed by the way police were handling the matter.

“The way how police are treating this matter leaves a lot to be desired,” Ndlovu said. - NIZBERT MOYO
